Recent builds

Here are some notable projects I've built recently. Most of my WordPress work involves developing themes (starting from the Sage or Underscores skeleton themes) and plugins. Recently I have been dabbling with some page-builder tools (Elementor, BeaverBuilder, Gutenberg) which allow my clients to more rapidly iterate their marketing projects.

Please note, I'm a coder and do not provide design services, but I can work with your designer - or refer one from my network - to build your site.

• Oregon Humane Society

  for Create Online

  In 2022 I rebuilt this site for the 4th time since 2007. This was the 3rd build on WordPress and involved a complete overhaul of the site's design and functionality. I built the custom theme and developed four plugins to add features to the site including a utility that syncs pet information from their shelter management service, several custom blocks for the Gutenberg editor, a React app for their resources page walkthrough, and a back-end utility for helping manage adoption requests.

• Liquid Agency

  for Harmonic Northwest and co-developed with David McKelvey

  I led the development effort to rebuild this WordPress site which features a number of custom layouts and features. Since launch in 2021, I continue to support the site's evolving needs with new templates, design revisions, and SEO and performance optimizations.

• Vans Aircraft

  for Harmonic Northwest

  This visually rich site provides marketing for Van's aircraft, some complex order forms, and searchable documentation for aircraft owners.

• Loupe: Ship in Six

  for Kinesis

  This site's theme was converted from an existing custom WordPress theme to support a page-builder utility. I handled the conversion and created custom editor blocks to provide for the new landing page design. This new theme was then used on three other promotional Loupe sites.

• Landry Smith Architect

  A simple looking site with a deceptive amount of complexity made to Landry's exacting specifications. In 2022 I completed a major rework of the site I originally built in 2013 which included an extensive overhaul of the project section user experience.

• Wacom Promotions

  for Ideaville

  I built custom WordPress block-editor modules to provide refreshed design elements for this WordPress site that served landing pages for all of Wacom's US and international promotions. The site is no longer online.

• Renovation Innovations

  The client approached me in 2020 with a website built in 2013 and which hadn't been updated since and now needed some content and security updates as well as layout improvements for small-screen devices. To keep costs down, I reimplemented the existing page design using a modern page-builder-enabled theme.

  Another site where I migrated a site design between platforms; this time from Webflow to WordPress.
